In Matthew 25:40, our Lord said to His disciples, “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me” (NIV).  In an effort to abide by His words and share the Gospel of Christ with others, our SFWC youth and young adults are launching our YAHWEH’s Backpacks 4 Marginalized Communities Initiative.

So, in participation with the Church of God of Prophecy’s Annual Global Serve Day/Weekend, our Youth & Young Adults Ministry Team and the young people we serve are aiming to raise funds to support marginalized communities within the Greater Toronto Area. With the funds we raise, we plan to purchase backpacks, supplies to pack into them, and donate the backpacks to a marginalized community we choose together.
 

For the 2025 COGOP Global Serve Day/Weekend, our focus is specifically on the homeless population of Toronto.

Supplies may look like:

 

• Toiletries (wet wipes, tissues, soap, first-aid kit, toothbrush/paste, feminine hygiene products, deodorant, lotion, floss, etc.).

• Non-perishable Food Items (canned meat/soups, peanut butter, juice boxes, water bottles, dried fruit, nuts, seeds, etc.).

• Clothing (sweaters, t-shirts, long sleeve shirts, sweatpants, socks, underwear, scarves, gloves, hats, etc.).

• Other (small Bibles, devotionals, etc.).
